Bozo and Pop Culture
One of the amazing things about the Bozo phenomenon is just how pervasive the character is our culture, our lexicon, and our day-to-day lives. Here are just a few recent examples of how Bozo had made (or been featured in) headlines:
–Bozo Tops Jesus in County Treasurer’s Race
–“UFC could headline a pay-per-view with Bozo the Clown vs. Rukka Rukka Ali and still get 250K buys…”
Larry Harmon didn’t mind that the Bozo moniker has entered our common lexicon as a dismissive term. Just the fact that a fictional character’s name became so ingrained in our culture that people use it to describe other folks is a pretty amazing fact.
